12 years ago, I visited Copenhagen for the first time. I was absolutely enchanted by the architecture, decadent food halls, and trampolines hidden in the streets. And that every street looked so effortlessly whimsical.
Given I spent the majority of the time drinking and going to an EDM music festival (moment of pause…), I thought perhaps I glorified it in a drunken stupor.
My recent trip last week proved that it was not in fact all a dream. Copenhagen is the most magical place on earth and I say that with firm resolution.
My Copenhagen account will be split into two parts - one being the itinerary, where I stayed, where I ate (there was just so much eating!!), what I packed, links to outfits, my Google Maps info, general info on pricing, and a playlist that captures the trip’s essence.
And the second will be what I learned from the trip and what I hope to bring back to Boston.
This was a trip I had been salivating over for the last six months. Even when Mike and I first started dating and we were hitting the small talky questions of the vanilla ‘where’s your favorite place you’ve traveled’ variety, Copenhagen was always at the tip of the tongue. And it lived up to everything I remembered.
I therefore did some pretty heavy research before arriving, scouring friends and the internet for recommendations. I’ll include our 5 day itinerary and will share the things I found to be my favorite so that way if the trip is shorter, you have streamlined options.
I also made a playlist based on the amazing music we heard in cafes, restaurants, museums, and coffee shops. We literally didn’t hear a bad tune all trip.
Before getting into it, a moment of incredible gratitude at the privilege of being able to do a trip like this. It was endlessly special and something I will remember fondly for the remainder of my years.
